Legend says that one look at the mythical creature Medusa and you will turn to stone. Fear not, for the band Medusa will simply turn you to rock. Their set list contains an eclectic mix of current and classic tunes that will make you dance, sing, or just enjoy the groove. Sure, we have a female singer, but this snake lady belts it out. No Britney or Mariah tunes in this show. Expect Metallica, Nickelback, or Foo Fighters.

The domain name of this site is “Medusa LIVE” for a reason. Medusa definitely “turns it up to 11” when they are performing. This is no ordinary rock show. We’ve got Brenda, crawling on bars and walking out into the crowd, bumping it up a notch. BAM! Then, there’s Darren. This New Yorker is the first to “share the love” and stun the crowd with his titillating guitar solos. (He he, she said tit…) Medusa’s “doctor in the house”, Dr. Glenn may be short in stature, but tall in talent. You never know whom he’ll impersonate next. (All this and keys and sound man too!) Norm is the latest addition to the Medusa menagerie. He's pounding out tasty bass lines, and giving us all something to smile about. Last, but not least, there’s Fred. When he’s not keeping his eye out for hot chicks, he keeps the beat steady and ends the night with a light flickering, heart thumping drum solo, reminiscent of Neil Peart.

Unlike most marriages these days, that don’t last past the expiration date on your bottle of Viagra, Medusa celebrated their 10-year anniversary in Nov. 2006. The years of hard work paid off in Aug. 2006, when Medusa was voted Brevard Live's "Entertainer of the Year". Glenn also snagged the "Favorite Keyboardist" award. Not only is Medusa adept at the nightclub scene, they have performed at various outdoor festivals and events, including Grant's "Q- Fest", the Melbourne Art Festival, The Big Squeeze Festival, & Downtown Melbourne’s Friday Fest.

Medusa released their first self-titled CD, which was recorded at Greg Rike Productions in Altamonte Springs. The CD received rave reviews and was featured in Brevard Live Magazine and also received airplay on radio stations such as 95.1 BVD, 104.1 Philips Phile, and 107.1 WA1A. Medusa has also contributed tracks for a CD compilation of area artists & a Beatles tribute CD. Rumors have it that new material will be recorded in this decade, so stay tuned…
